The Department of Education is looking for Assisted Travel Support Officers (ATSOs) to work on a temporary basis during the school year.
The Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) plays a significant role in meeting the needs of eligible students with disability by providing free specialised transport to and from school where parents and carers are unable to provide or arrange transport.
We need more Assisted Travel Support Officers to accompany students with special needs on their transport to and from school.
Assisted Travel Support Officers (ATSOs) are department employees who provide additional supervision and support for students on transport. ATSOs supervise and support students with behavioural and medical needs. They ensure students with disability arrive at school safe and ready to learn.
Vacancies exist across NSW including many regional locations. This is the perfect casual job to compliment your TAFE schedule. International students must have an unrestricted working visa.

ATSOs work on a part-time temporary basis during the school year. Earnings vary depending on the run time and the student's supervision needs.
Hourly rate and leave entitlement vary depending on whether you are employed on a long-term or short-term temporary contract of service.
The rates under the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award [MA000063] are $24.31/hour for ASTOs on a long-term temporary contract, $27.96 if you work both a morning and afternoon run, or $30.39/hour for those employed as short-term casuals.
