Culture at KPMG Australia

7.6
7.6 rating for Culture, based on 26 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Great culture. Always have people who want to hang out with you before or after work. Made lots of friends. Very healthy culture too, everyone is super supportive
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
The hierarchy is very lateral - it is very easy to talk to my superiors, even those I have not met before. People are keen to share their work and information the working hours vary, but on average, are very manageable
Graduate, Canberra - 08 Nov 2023
So far, the culture has been incredible, and everyone is extremely supportive and helpful.

Personally, I feel like the culture at the firm is pretty poor. I've been with the company over 9 months, and I feel like I've never fit in. If you're not an alcoholic, you often feel left out of workplace activities.

Everyone is happy to have a chat and help out whenever you need. No interaction after hours when logged off which is a good thing. Hybrid working environment makes socialising difficult. Hierarchy is there but not clear in day to day due to hot desking and everyone being friendly with each other.

Generally positive. Very inclusive and outgoing culture. However, there is a clear hierarchy to who performs and who takes credit / rewards from work.

Great young team who enjoy hanging out together.

The culture is fantastic. There is a hierarchical structure, however, it often feels unnoticed, and all doors are open. The teamwork element of the job is one of the best parts and the after-work socialising is fantastic and another big plus for the company.

Natural socialisation is great, though I very much dislike corporate socialising events as they feel contrived. Hierarchy is generally quite flat.
Graduate, Sydney - 08 Nov 2023
Social events are fun. My grad group is great to hang out with. The culture can be quite toxic, specifically in positions above grads (seniors/assistant managers) depending on who you surround yourself with.
Graduate, Adelaide - 08 Nov 2023
I have been lucky to become part of a really good team, and we have done social events outside of work and get on well in the office. Hierarchy is really flat which is good (i.e. the leaders are very accessible), good teamwork, and a good overall culture with a focus on wellbeing.

Good culture within team but limited interaction with other divisions. Office-wide social club puts on events throughout the year.
Graduate, Adelaide - 06 Nov 2023
Our culture is highly performance driven
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Nov 2023
No traditional hierarchy barriers, everyone is very friendly and happy to talk regardless of their title.
Graduate, Sydney - 03 Nov 2023
I think the company promotes collaboration within teams and also throughout the company as a whole and due to this, overall I would say I'm satisfied with the culture. However, as a graduate in a small team I don't think I was given a chance at the beginning of the year to collaborate with other graduates as much as what I was expecting. Since then there have been a few events which is great.

My team has a great work culture, but from observing other teams it can be very hierarchical. There are no incentives such as morning tea or lunches to get everyone back in the office or activities to keep moral high.
Graduate, Melbourne - 02 Nov 2023
The company has a good culture from top down and bottom up. The only thing to be mindful of is that reading the room is a critical skill to establish. Emotional intelligence is just as important as IQ.
