About the role of a Support Worker:

• You will play an integral role in delivering on Westhaven’s purpose, to place their participants at the center of everything they do.
• You will work with adults, children, and young people living with disability to provide assistance with daily living skills, personal care, community inclusion, and participation activities.
• Work is undertaken in the context of supporting the participant to maintain their well-being, explore opportunities, and work towards agreed outcomes that are important to, and for, the person.

Key responsibilities:

• Support participants with daily living skills
• Promote and foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful home environment that supports participants to live life the way they choose
• Actively engage in initiatives that support participants to engage in culturally appropriate activities
• Support participants to understand and make informed decisions regarding all aspects of their lives
• Support participants with social participation opportunities and accessing education, community, and engagement activities
• Understand and implement individual support plans
