Whilst working directly with children, the educator role will involve participating in service operations, providing a high-quality care service program and encouraging children to further their development needs and requirements.

Previous experience working within the industry is preferred however is not essential.

Essential requirements of the role:

  • Current Working with Children's Check (Must be at least 18 years old)
  • Two doses of a COVID-19 Vaccination

A current First Aid Certificate, CPR and Asthma & Anaphylaxis training or willingness to obtain is favourable but not essential!

Ideally, the position would suit a person who is:

  • Both mature and responsible, and able to engage in healthy and positive relationships with school-aged children
  • Honest, reliable and consistent in meeting rostering requirements.
  • Capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Able to adapt to fast changing environments and has problem solving skills
  • Willing to learn and grow

This role will have the potential of permanency.

About Us:

Located in the beautiful Lower North Shore, The Kids Cottage is a non-profit organisation managed by a volunteer Committee of parents and school community members. The Committee is a sub-committee of the Middle Harbour Public School Parents & Citizens Association (P&C). The Centre currently caters for up to 230 children daily, which is separated into three age groups for After School Care and up to 5 groups for Vacation Care allowing for our programs to reflect the cognitive, social, physical and emotional development of each child.
