What is the role?

Tutors are responsible for tutoring in all subject areas for students between Kindergarten and Year 6 or specific subjects Year 7-10, at all learning levels, including those with learning difficulties.
The tutors assist by supplementing the instruction students receive in class and guiding them towards study practices and aides that can help them excel. They support students to become independent learners, and thinkers and reach their goals.

Tutors will work with individual students one-on-one or in group environments, predominantly face-to-face.

What will you do as a tutor?

  • Create a professional and welcoming environment 
  • Help students become more confident, more successful, self-directed learners
  • Develop learning goals with the child and reflect on progress
  • Plan lessons to engage and educate, building on previous learnings
  • Employ study aides to assist to prepare for tests and quizzes
  • Assist in the use of equipment, learning objects, and materials needed for student success
  • Communicate and provide feedback to child/parent formally through Individual Student Plans and informally through discussion.
