We offer a fun team to work with, lots of learning about supporting a neurodivergent child that looks and behaves a lot like a typical child in many ways but has complex social, communication, and emotional needs.

Brayden and his family are looking for a team member with the passion and commitment to positively support him with his daily life tasks and nurture his vision of building a good life.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Assist Brayden to make genuine personal connections and explore his world through creativity and play and successfully participate in social activities.
  • Work with Brayden, his family and his therapists to develop and implement strategies to achieve his goals.
  • Implement therapist plans
  • Keep accurate and complete records via shift notes
  • Abide by the NDIS Code of Conduct (Workers) and the employer's quality safeguards policies and procedures.

Desired personal characteristics:

  • A playful, creative person who is able to think outside the box and comfortable in a natural setting.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated about learning about and working with neurodivergent. Is able to learn quickly and implement good practice.
  • A calm person is able to regulate their emotions and have a high degree of emotional intelligence, empathy and compassion.
  • A people person who is great at nurturing relationships and building a collaborative work culture.
  • A solution-focused attitude to problem-solving.
  • Common interests to Brayden.
  • Given the location, have a passion for being on the water, swimming, and a willingness to obtain a boat license. Don't worry about getting to the Island we will help you.

Recruitment Process

You will also need to have a driver's licence, Police Check and a WWCC (or be willing to obtain them).

  • This is a full-time fixed-term role (12 months with likely extension). Flexible working hours are available.

Remuneration & Career Growth

The position will be a 12-month fixed term contract with the likely possibility of extension. You will be paid under the SCHADS award –Level 2, Paypoint 3. Social and community services employee plus superannuation and leave.
