The Story of Ogilvy Australia

Ogilvy was founded in 1948 by David Ogilvy. This New York City-based agency focuses on advertising, marketing, public relations, and other related services. With the philosophy: ‘We sell or else’, they combine a global presence spanning more than 170 cities in over 83 countries with strong local expertise.

Ogilvy has 450 offices, making it one of the largest advertising agencies in the world. In Australia, they have three offices in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, serving clients such as BMW and KFC. They partner with clients to build their brands through ground-breaking advertising.

Recruitment process

You need to apply online through their career site by clicking the Apply button on each open position available. Make sure that your resume includes all of your experiences that are advertising-related since they want to see the depth of your accomplishments. The hiring process may also include a writing assessment.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for an initial Zoom/Skype or phone interview, then several rounds of casual interviews to meet potential teammates and the hiring manager. The final interview will be with the HR coordinator or other leadership team. They will make the final decisions after that, and send you an offer if you are successful.

Higher pay can be expected from the following roles: Account Director (AU$90,000-115,000), Senior Creative (AU$90,000-135,000), Senior Art Director (AU$99,000-135,000), Associate Director (AU$128,000-170,000), Strategy Director (AU$140,000-158,000), Associate Creative Director (AU$160,000-173,000), Director (AU$151,000-212,000).
