About the opportunity:

Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS) is looking for candidates to fill current and future full time, part-time, permanent, temporary and casual Technical Assistant positions. Successful candidates will be considered for positions within our various forensic and analytical science laboratories.

Applicants not initially offered a role but who have been assessed during the recruitment process as being suitable will be placed on an eligibility list for future full time & part-time – permanent, temporary and casual vacancies. Placement in the talent pool remains valid for a period of 18 months.

FASS specialises in providing independent and objective forensic analysis to the criminal and coronial justice systems, as well as quality scientific analysis that contributes to community health and safety. Our services include illicit drug analysis, forensic and drug toxicology, chemical criminalistics, forensic biology and DNA, forensic medicine, environmental toxicology, and environmental microbiology.

Our network of pathologists is supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice systems.

What you'll be doing:

Providing assistance to laboratory staff by performing a range of technical and administrative services, to contribute to the efficient operation of the Unit, and consequently to the creation of better health and justice systems in NSW.
