Architectural Draftsperson Graduate - TAFE Students Prefrerred null

You would be part of a small practice of 3 people. You would be working directly with the 2 directors – a husband and wife team. You will have an opportunity to gain experience in the full range of architectural services from start to finish including client meetings, site visits, correspondence with consultants and council, dealing with suppliers, etc. We also provide interior design services for our clients. You may be required to carry out some administration and marketing duties to assist with running the office.

Job Description

The successful candidate for this position would:

• Have proficient Archicad 24 drafting skills;
• Have knowledge of local building construction;
• Have an understanding of local building regulations (or willing to learn them);
• Have an interest in the built environment and willingness to learn and improve skills;
• Be able to eventually run small residential projects with supervision;
• Show an ability to analyse and resolve issues independently;
• Live locally – Northern Beaches or North Shore is preferable;
• Assist with marketing and social media.

Job Details

• Full time or part-time will be considered;
• The contract was initially to be Casual, with a 1 month trial period;
• Working hours would be regular 9 am til 5:30 pm with 1-hour lunch;
• Job location: our office in Manly, or work from home dependant on Covid regulations;
• Remuneration would be above award rates.

MMJ Architects:

• The majority of our projects are single residential homes.
• We are also involved in the architectural community by running MMJ Talks - Facebook/MMJtalks.

Our ideal candidate would be proficient with Archicad software, have a good understanding of basic design principles, regulations, construction. Be willing to learn and interested in design. Be a good fit for the office.
