Mi kids set out to be different to the mainstream of the industry, we are a small family-owned company trying to make a difference. We have tailored our systems to Exceed the NQS but to reduce the amount of administrative work required by educators, providing them with more time to spend with the children catering to their individual needs. Inclusion is a primary focus in the organisation and we treat every child as an individual and cater to their individual needs.

Our staff value the amount of support we provide, this includes significant training, above-average off the floor time, above average lunch and program cover support educators. We also have specialist educators for Inclusion Support and Art to assist the room teams.

Recruitment Process

  1. Application by submission of a CV and Cover Letter
  2. In-person interview, typically with the Management Team (Director & Owner, Assistant Director Inclusion and Assistant Director Administration. This typically takes an hour to complete.

The applicant should show the following:

  1. Strong communication skills and the ability to have open and honest conversation
  2. Display ability to work well in a team and be receptive to feedback
  3. Teaching practices are central to the child and their needs
  4. A growth mindset that is flexible and eager to adopt new innovative approaches
  5. Ability to program for children's learning and development

Remuneration & Career Growth

Graduate salary ranges are based on award levels adjusted to meet market demands, they are assessed based on each candidate individually.

As detailed above, we strive to make the administrative workload on educators as low as possible and we provide above-average time off the floor and above-average lunch cover and program cover support staffing. We use Employment Hero as our HR and Payroll Software, which has the added benefit of an Employee Benefits system, providing staff with access to a range of employee discounts from major retailers and other outlets.
