Lighthouse Early Learning Centres Graduate Programs & Internships

  • Education & Training

Our Centre offers the highest standard of preschool education for children aged 0 to 6 years. Our centres set the foundation for children to engage in different environments that spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and express their individuality through play and sensory learning.

We acknowledge each child is unique and tailor the learning experience to ensure the highest outcome is achieved in a safe and friendly environment.

Lighthouse Early Learning Centre is licensed by the Department of Family and Community Services, under the Education and Care Services Regulations 2012. This is our quality assurance check. Furthermore, we are a registered member of the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and strive to meet the highest possible standards in early education and care.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Lighthouse Early Learning Centre we believe in providing an atmosphere that is secure, caring, nurturing and free from bias. Each child is an individual and should be treated with equality, embracing and acknowledging all backgrounds.

We believe that partnerships with families are paramount in order for children to feel a sense of belonging to Lighthouse as a whole. Both parents and educators will work in partnership to develop each child in a mutually supportive and caring environment.

We acknowledge the importance of family participation in a child's development and encourage parental involvement in social activities and in the classroom. Lighthouse welcomes ideas and feedback with regard to our programs.

When planning for the children’s development we will consider each child as a unique individual. We, as educators, plan and present the indoor and outdoor play spaces in a way that is visually pleasing, exciting, interesting and encourages learning through play. Our program promotes independence, self-control, and social skills and provides opportunities for each child to explore, experiment and develop at their own rate as an individual. Children grow and develop at different rates and in their own way and we, as Early Childhood Professionals believe that our programs should reflect each individual child's needs and interests, putting an emphasis on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Lighthouse recognises the importance of the holistic development of children as individuals and as lifelong learners. We, therefore, seek to nurture all areas of development for every child in our care. Children at Lighthouse are encouraged to realise their potential through play-based learning, interactions and daily living experiences so that they can become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens.

As a dedicated team, we will share our knowledge and expertise. We will play and work with children to discover ideas, provide opportunities for learning and engage the children in experiences that encourage them to develop. We acknowledge that learning is life-long and we are committed to ongoing professional development. Furthermore, we are continually examining our practices and always seeking to improve the service.
