IT Security & Compliance Officer - TAFE Students Preferred null

K&S Freighters is seeking an IT Security and Compliance Officer within our IT Division. As a premier logistics and transportation provider, we are committed to excellence, innovation, and safety.

As an IT Security and Compliance Officer, you will be at the forefront of our business to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our critical systems and information. 

You could be someone just starting out in cyber security, who is passionate about security and technology, a self-starter who can work autonomously on tasks. 

About the role

This role is responsible for day-to-day operations within the IT Security team. This spans the full range of security monitoring, incident investigation, response, and other security related functions.

• Leverage the technical stack to detect, respond and remediate existing and emerging security threats.
• Liasing with technical and non-technical people at all levels
• Educating and empowering our team members
• Champion cyber awareness and training initiatives, ensuring that every member of our organisation is equipped to detect and prevent potential threats.

What you’ll bring

• A can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong analytical skills
• A risk and cyber security mindset.
• Demonstrated minimum 12 months' technical experience in a similar role.
• Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
• An ability to recognise, prioritise and escalate work requests appropriately.
• Represent our organisation in a professional manner in dealing with external parties.

Highly desirable

• Knowledge about cyber security threats
• Knowledge of the ASD Essential 8
• Knowledge of MITRE ATTACK framework
• Exposure to anti-virus/malware and Nextgen technologies
• Exposure to SIEM technologies
• Exposure to secure email gateways
• Knowledge of security concepts
