Herb Urban was founded with a pure desire to make growing your own food easy and accessible for everyone. The team at Herb Urban is passionate about living and eating well, with a strong focus on nurturing nature and celebrating the results of their efforts. They are enthusiastic advocates for growing food, reducing food miles, and cooking with organic, fresh produce.

The core belief at Herb Urban is that it's time to bring food sources back to where they originated - people's own backyards. Their ultimate goal is to make sustainable living and food growing accessible to everyone, regardless of their location. They emphasize that every individual step taken to reduce food wastage and plastic consumption contributes to lessening their impact on the environment.

Herb Urban was founded in 2016 by a local from Newcastle, and it has since expanded its presence across the Greater Hunter region, with installations in both residential and commercial spaces. In 2019, they established their headquarters in Islington, a spacious warehouse transformed into a workshop and nursery. This space serves as the hub for all their operations, including the construction and testing of their gardens and the cultivation of a wide range of fresh herbs and vegetables.

Passersby can witness Herb Urban's flagship product, the Herb Urban Custom garden, flourishing with a variety of edible and ornamental plants on display from the street. Their headquarters is located at 118 Fern Street, Islington, NSW 2294, where visitors are welcome to explore.

Herb Urban's overarching mission is to disrupt the current agriculture system by making it easy and accessible for all Australians to grow their own food. By shifting the relationship with produce from one of demand and waste to one of nurture and recycle, they aim to significantly reduce humanity's impact on Earth. With sustainability as their driving force, Herb Urban is committed to empowering individuals to grow their own food in their own backyards.
