The position:

  • Hours of work as a Casual in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is typically between 7-9 am (mornings) or 2-6 pm (afternoons).
  • During school, vacation care periods shifts could be up to 7.6hr days or 38hr week.
  • You will be supporting programs in the Inner Western Suburbs
  • Experience working with school-aged children is preferred but not essential.
  • Training will be provided on induction to assist in transitioning you confidently as a support educator working with children 5-12 years.
  • Before School and After School Care programs provide fun, structured, and unstructured activities for children to explore, experiment and engage with each other. Many programs have their own designed indoor and outdoor play space; some operate within a shared space where packing up and setting up forms part of the daily routine.
  • There is plenty of opportunities to share your skills and talents, making this the perfect setting to shine and contribute to the program and children's positive experiences.

Who we are looking for…
The successful candidate will be supported by a quality-focused coordination and management team and be responsible for participating in and supporting the day-to-day operations of a licenced OOSH program that has an opportunity for potential growth.

As the ideal candidate in addition to your proven experience in an OOSH program, you will have the ability to build relationships with children, families and key stakeholders. Your sound knowledge of the NQF and understanding of the NQS and the Middle Years Learning Framework, My Time, Our Place will complement and support the design and implementation of stimulating and engaging learning and leisure programs.

As a successful candidate you will be well presented, enjoy working as a team member and bring a high level of enthusiasm and initiative to the workplace.

To be suited for this position you MUST be:

  • Cert III or Diploma in Children's Services or studying for a qualification in education
  • Working with Children Check
  • Experience working with children
  • Sound knowledge of My Time My Place and the National Quality Standards
  • Proven ability to implement learning and leisure programs
  • Demonstrated skills working within a dynamic team environment
  • Great communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake programming and administrative duties

Desirable

  • Computer literacy including knowledge of CCS software
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
  • Child Protection
  • Current Driver's License
