Explore & Develop Breakfast Point is an owner-operated service, nestled in the beautiful surrounds of Breakfast Point. The organisation has a great repour with the community and uses its local parks, waterways and green spaces as a means to support children in developing a love and respect for their natural environment.

Our team draws on individual interests, knowledge and culture to provide children with rich and meaningful experiences and has created a respectful culture where critical reflection and discussion is welcomed and celebrated.

The service provides a wide range of professional development opportunities and supports educators wanting to further their education. Educators have been with this service for 5, 10 and 15 years, and the service prides itself on low turnover and positive, professional work environments.

Recruitment Process

  • Applicants will be contacted for a brief phone interview that would typically ask a few questions to gauge the applicant's interest in the job, FactCheck qualifications and background, and assess if a good fit.
  • Following the phone interview, an in-person interview is set.
  • Typically, the interview panel would consist of the Approved Provider and the Educational Leader and/or Senior team members depending on the position.
  • Each panel member will be assigned questions to ask/discuss with the applicant based on job function and expertise.
  • The panel will seek to identify what motivates the candidate, what drew them to apply for the role and how they as part of a team, amongst other questions. Types of questions will range from 'Behavioural', 'Situational' and 'Cultural'.
  • Applicants will be asked if they have any questions.
  • Applicants will have a tour of the service and meet the team.
  • Once the interview is completed, the Approved Provider will discuss the next steps.

Explore & Develop Breakfast Point will source and retain educators and staff who are professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work in the early childhood education and care sector.
Recruitment and selection of educators and staff will be guided by the requirements of relevant legislation, equity and diversity, qualifications, knowledge and skills, workforce participation, experience and having a positive team-building attitude.

  • Our Service is committed to providing a comprehensive induction program to ensure the smooth integration of new educators/staff. The Approved Provider and/or Nominated Supervisor will support the new educator/staff member and help them to understand the organisational structure, how decisions are made and communicated and what role they will have in the decision-making process.
