The city of Newcastle is currently seeking an enthusiastic Asset Project Officer interested in either developing their technical engineering skills, specialising their existing engineering skills or implementing their current expertise to deliver core stormwater infrastructure services for CN. As the successful candidate, you'll join our Assets and Projects team for a period of 24 months to temporarily replace an employee currently on secondment.

This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining asset management systems, assisting in the development and implementation of capital works and maintenance programs for assets, developing technical standards, providing technical advice as well as investigating and resolving matters relating to asset services infrastructure.

Some specific tasks include:

  • Performing drainage investigations – including site inspections, condition assessments, obtaining technical site data, hydraulic modelling, preparing concept designs and responding to customers.
  • Preparing business cases and works programs.
  • Programming robotic CCTV inspections and performing GIS mapping.
  • Providing design review, construction advice, quality assurance and asset handover services.
  • Providing updates for technical drawings, specifications, plans, procedures, and policies.

Remuneration range:  $67,209.56 - $84,501.63 + 10% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
