The culture at Baker McKenzie can be described as doing great work in a supportive environment, with genuine people around the globe.

The common feature that has stood out throughout the year (and, in fact, since I commenced as a clerk) has been the people. During each step of my journey, I have felt supported by genuinely friendly, highly approachable, and thoughtful colleagues – many of which have become my good friends.

I increasingly felt my skills and abilities growing, particularly because I was increasingly given the trust and responsibility to progress matters and key documents using my own initiative. I was also able to interact with clients, while always being supported by highly approachable, hands-on, and supportive senior colleagues and partners – who, every day, always had time to offer guidance and support.

In just a few short months after completing my clerkship, I feel confident that establishing my legal career at Baker McKenzie will be fantastic for my professional development, will open many doors, and will enable me to bring my whole self to work and shape the wonderfully diverse culture of the Firm.

The work I received throughout the clerkship was incredibly varied and was genuine, real client work. It was rewarding to see how the work I was doing was actually being used to support the client too!

It was (and continues to be) astounding to be surrounded by a diverse range of seriously good people across all different levels throughout the entire Firm, many of whom I’ve now formed really close friendships with.

Throughout the clerkship, I received great mentorship from my supervising partner – who provided me with valuable feedback throughout the clerkship, continuously took me to client meetings and got me involved in a range of interesting matters.

With the work, the people, the opportunities and the culture combined, I am confident that I have made the best decision in choosing Baker McKenzie for a clerkship and as the place to establish my legal career.
