Machine Learning Intern

Zendesk is looking for hardworking students with a background in Machine Learning to join our team remotely anywhere in Australia, or co-located with one of our offices in Melbourne! Relocation assistance not offered. You will work 37.5 hours for 6 months starting in Aug. 2022. Our Machine Learning Intern will collaborate closely with local and global team members to build products using Machine Learning for Zendesk. You will pair with applied ML scientists to learn about our technology stack and architecture. You’ll write code, build models, create data pipelines, and deploy them to production! 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Build software to move machine learning models from experiment to production.
  • Design, prototype, and refine scalable infrastructure
  • Write and deploy production-grade code and learn how to design for scale. Make an impact on millions of users a day!
  • Collaborate with hardworking, intelligent, and humble colleagues around the globe.
  • Present your work to a multi-disciplinary, global audience. 
  • Work in an agile development environment where pragmatism triumphs over dogmatism
  • Participate in activities and volunteer with other interns

Required experience:

  • Currently enrolled or a recent grad in a university program or boot camp for Computer Science or a directly related field of study.
  • Coding skills in any language of your choice.
  • Someone who is passionate about Machine Learning.
  • Must be located and authorized to work in Australia. 

Preferred requirements: 

  • Familiarity with one of the main machine learning libraries (Tensorflow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn) 
  • Experience with Python
  • Great written and verbal communication skills, with experience conveying technical concepts to a diverse audience of partners.
  • A collaborative and can-do attitude
  • A desire to learn and grow
