This role sits within the Service Design and Engagement team. The team’s purpose is to support the review of library services, programs and systems; develop innovative solutions; and to communicate to our community – creatively telling the story of the library, and keeping members and other stakeholders informed and connected.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Willoughby City Council as a full time Service Design and Engagement Assistant at our Library.

This role sits within the Service Design?& Engagement?team, one of five library teams. The team’s purpose is to support the review of library services, programs and systems; develop innovative solutions; and to communicate to our community – creatively telling the story of the library, and keeping members and other stakeholders informed and connected. 

This creative role is an exciting opportunity to introduce you to public libraries and to use your design skills to:

  • Create content for the library app, website, social media and digital displays
  • Design promotions to attract audiences to programs and events
  • Engage diverse audiences across library communications
  • Support library teams by engaging with the community to shape library services

Required qualifications, skills and experience include:

  • HSC or equivalent
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills, graphic design software, and experience (1+ years)
  • Good communication skills –written, verbal and visual – for a variety of audiences and media 
  • Good technology ability - to share approved content across multiple channels and media
  • Demonstrated organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong commitment and confidence to deliver quality customer service
