The assistant wedding co-ordinator and maître de will cross over many front-of-house roles from waiting sections in the restaurant, welcoming guests at the front desk, working the bar area, assisting with weddings & events.

Undertaking a Certificate 3 in Hospitality, this traineeship with The Garden Bar & Kitchen will provide emerging wedding and event co-ordinators with the fundamental skills through on-the-job experience and training. 

You will work alongside the wedding co-ordinator who has 10+ years of event management experience. 

The Venue:

The Garden Bar & Kitchen is a waterfront restaurant and functions venue based at The Old Cheese Factory in Frederickton, Macleay Valley. 

We are the premium restaurant and leading wedding venue in the Macleay Valley. 

The Garden Bar is the ideal place to unwind with family and friends, to enjoy local and seasonal produce accompanied by great drinks and welcoming service. Also having the capability to turn into a 120 people seated event.

The Role:

  • Have a passion to work in the wedding and hospitality industry
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • Assist the wedding co-ordinator with weddings from booking until the wedding day
  • Update new wedding inquiries into the database
  • Learn the booking system and point of sale system for restaurant 
  • Receive and confirm reservations in the booking system 
  • Be able to assist in co-ordinating functions
  • Greet and seat guests
  • Waitressing a section in the restaurant
  • Assist in the clean-up and closing of the restaurant 
  • A good eye for detail
