      The Information Technology Division (IT) comprises of business analysis, development, operational, and digital resources, who plan, build, change and run the IT systems that support Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) to deliver its vision of a cancer-free future.
      The Volunteer System Technician triages and responds to requests for support and assistance from Cancer Council Staff and volunteers and supporters to facilitate the best possible user experience. To assist with the administration and maintenance of CCNSW's systems and technology infrastructure. To maintain and build upon our team's business and technical knowledge and deliver all this in line with industry best practices.

      Main responsibilities will include:

      • Assists with the maintenance, monitoring and security of computer hardware and software systems to meet the organisation's current and future requirements.
      • Assist with the triaging of tickets.
      • Contributes to documenting incident and problem resolutions.
      • Assists with the maintenance of the IT asset register.
      • Assists with the onboarding and offboarding of staff and volunteers accounts.
      • Works within agreed time frames and SLAs to resolve or escalate incidents.
      • Contributes to the maintenance of documentation of all systems.
      • Seeks guidance, where required, to comply with resource constraints, quality standards, regulatory compliance to meet business and customer requirements.
      • Assists with project work.
      • Work Health and Safety
      • Follow all Cancer Council health and safety policies and procedures.
      • Report all known or observed hazards to Manager or Supervisor.
      • Take reasonable care at work to ensure your own and others' safety.

      Skills and experience:

      Essential:

      • Working toward tertiary qualifications and\or industry certifications
      • Demonstrated knowledge and/or previous experience in supporting local and remote clients in a centralised IT services environment.
      • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the delivery of IT services using industry.
      • Sound verbal and written communication with demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly.
      • A positive, proactive and 'service-orientated approach to IT service delivery.
      • Customer service skills
      • Organisation and planning skills.
      • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
      • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others.
      • Analytic and decision-making abilities.

      Desirable:

      • Previous experience in an IT support services environment and participation in an IT Service Desk.
