OUR TEAM

Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships. We’re proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through operational support to our defence partners. YOUR ROLE

Working centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land you will begin in the workshop and eventually progress to large maritime vessels. Learn on the job whilst also gaining your Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.

Here are some of the key skills you will learn:

  • Repairing, installing, testing and commissioning of mechanical/electrical equipment and systems
  • Fault analysis of commercial and military electrical/mechanical weapons equipment/systems
  • Assist in installation of all types of naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments

The most important attribute for the role is a great attitude and willingness to learn, but you will also need to:   

  • Have completed year 10 studies at a minimum
  • Have great communication skills and enjoy interacting with different groups of people
  • Be able to complete maths problems and put this to use in the workplace
  • Adult apprentices as well as entry level encouraged to apply!

We will consider 1st and 2nd year apprentices transferring for a change of environment.
