Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships. YOUR ROLE

Working centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land you will work as part of a team that are responsible for the majority of the interior finish work on maritime vessels. You will help make shipboard bunks, lockers, stowage bins, furniture and hand rails to name a few things.

Here are some of the key skills you will learn:

• Performing basic welding (MIG, TIG and Stick)
• The safe and proper use of battery, electric and air power tools
• The interpretation of quality documents, drawing, work instructions and references.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

The most important attribute for the role is a great attitude and willingness to learn, but you will also need to:   

• Have completed year 10 studies at a minimum
• Have great communication skills and enjoy interacting with different groups of people
• Be able to complete maths problems and put this to use in the workplace
• Adult apprentices as well as entry level encouraged to apply!
