Being a Mechanical Apprentice at Thales, you’ll have a job that matters to us, to you and to everyone. Over our 4 year program you will have the chance to learn the technicalities of your trade at school and then apply this to a supportive environment whilst you learn on the job. What can you expect?      

Working in our Technical & Weapon System department you will gain exposure to naval weapons and radar mechanical systems. Working under supervision you can expect to:

  • Assist with the repairs, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical/electrical equipment and systems in surface and sub-surface Naval vessels
  • Assist with the fault analysis of commercial and military electrical/mechanical weapons equipment and systems
  • Carry out repairs to electrical/mechanical systems
  • Assist in installation of all types of naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments
