The Graduate Opportunity:

As part of our portfolio growth, we are seeking a Junior/Graduate GIS Analyst to join the Spatial Team. This is a permanent, full-time role.

This role is suited to a Graduate or Junior GIS analyst with a sound understanding of spatial data who is looking to develop their skills and grow with our business.

The position involves GIS support, data management and spatial analysis across a range of asset management projects for our diverse client base, as well as ad-hoc GIS support to other sections of the business.

Reporting to Spatial Section Leader position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • To provide GIS support, data management and geospatial analysis for the Asset Management section, including the facilitation and management of digital field data collection.
  • Facilitate and manage field data collection across multiple projects simultaneously, using appropriate mobile data capture technologies
  • Undertake spatial data processing, digitising and audit tasks for asset management projects
  • Extract pertinent spatial data and related information from client databases and manipulate using ETL processes to suit project requirements
  • Adhere to data processing workflows and quality control frameworks, while identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Produce high quality cartographic figures
  • Regular reporting, both formal and informal, to team leader and project manager and
  • Provision of general GIS support and technical services across the business, as required.

Position Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in GIS or related spatial discipline (candidates without qualification but possessing relevant and demonstrable technical skills and experience may also be considered).
  • Highly motivated with a sound work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Experience in ArcGIS or QGIS suite of software
  • Spatial data management, analysis and geoprocessing experience
  • An understanding of different coordinate systems and projections and the role they play in capturing data from disparate sources
  • A demonstrable willingness to raise queries and seek assistance to ensure project tasks and goals are well understood
  • A sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products and working within the Windows operating system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge or experience in any of the following will be seen as advantageous: FME, Python scripting, field data capture technology, previous work in a consulting environment or asset management.
