Company is providing job training such as software operating training and also day to day job-related training by senior professionals. Graduate program is one of the development programs helping young professionals to become fully fledge one. Also, there is a lunch and learn program to attend useful presentation. With those training it helped me in developing skills to operate software to do designing and also communication skills.

A lot of learning on the job, would appreciate some more training for individual tasks etc

I have done a lot of useful training courses for my field: snake handling, helicopter training and informal training for work that is specific to my interests.

Strong formal and informal training, have learnt new software and learnt many technical details both from formal training and informal training sessions with seniors.

Basically, for my department, it's on the job training. I was out in the field supervising drilling works most of the time. that's where I learned core logging skills, with sampling and part of reporting skills.

Being a part of the graduate program, there is a whole suite of formal training tasks for us to complete which are all valuable for picking up both professional, personal and technical skills. I have many opportunities for informal training through my day-to-day tasks by getting to work on some interesting projects that have made me learn new software programs or tools.

Managers are very understandable and supportive towards our development

We have a systematic training program for graduated at Stantec. To be honest, the program is helpful and informative for me to pick up practical skills such as presentation, clients engagement etc.

I do a lot of on-the-job training, mostly learning how to apply university knowledge to real world engineering and developing skills in software that is required to deliver projects. There are some formal training opportunities supplied by the company, including training seminars, online modules and lunch and learn sessions.

I have picked up a lot of skills, but mostly because of self training on the job. There is next to no formal graduate training.

Training is almost non present. A lot of learning on the go. In terms of interpersonal skills however, grad labs are there to help

External and internal training programs, online and in person training modules are great. I've picked up quite a lot of essential skills along the way, but I wish there would be more in-person related trainings so that I could actually practice what I've picked up.

Working with other people in the team.

Mostly self-led. Courses are great but you have to seek most of them out yourself but can get good recommendations and industry professionals do occasionally come in for presentations.

A lot of the formal training and induction trainings were very broad and some didn't cover all bases. The informal training is quite good my managers and team members really care that I understand it

I would have appreciated some more diversified training opportunities as a graduate to get to know more of the sector outside of purely approvals and assessment

I have received both internal and external training and all of the experiences have been pleasant. The graduate program for the Environmental graduates could be improved slightly but other than that, the job specific training that I have received from Ben my team lead and Stantec in general has been quite good. I do believe you are the maker of your own success, if you would like to grow and develop new skills the training is available at Stantec, you just have to be the driver of that in some respects.
