its is fairly good
Graduate, Brisbane - 27 Aug 2024
Most graduates become an intermediate after two years. I am happy in the graduate role and in no real rush to rise up the ranks as I feel there is still a lot more I can learn in this position. The ranks are very clear and there is often internal promotion and a real feeling that they want you to stick around and grow within the company.
Graduate, Perth - 23 Aug 2024
After 2 years and completion of all grad tasks, get promoted up a level. Pathways to continue moving after this.
Graduate, Brisbane - 23 Aug 2024
I believe there are promotion opportunities as long as you show your value/worth/qualities In my own context, I was offered to graduate from the Graduate Program early because I have shown skills and reliance and that'll make me an Engineer from Graduate Engineer. This conversation was initiated by my manager without me mentioning anything about it.
Graduate, Perth - 19 Aug 2024
Getting promotions and climbing is little bit slim as we have many engineers and working as seniors at the moment. To climb up the ladder, it needs skills and knowledge, higher qualifications, and trainings to be well equipped before taking a step up.
Graduate, Other (Please specify) - Mackay 4740, OLD - 15 Aug 2024
not so happy with the promotion and career progression opportunities. The promotion takes a lot of time, which is not good. The quality of work needs to be improved.
Graduate, Brisbane - 06 Aug 2024
There are great opportunities for promotion at Stantec, starting with the successful completion of the graduate program resulting in the promotion of graduate civil engineer to civil engineer. As you become more experienced, you can work you way up to senior and principal engineer positions.
Graduate, Brisbane - 05 Aug 2024
Though I just started and haven't gone through any progress review and promotion yet, I have good impression on the progress based on other's sharing.
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Aug 2024
From what I have seen in my brief time at the company it seems career progression is encouraged and is based on experience and knowledge, and the company is making steps to close the gender gap between male and female company leaders.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Aug 2024
2 years as a grad, then a few years as an engineer, then a few years as a senior engineer, then if you want to, become principal engineer when you're around 40+
Graduate, Sydney - 01 Aug 2024
Years of experience really, progression of graduate to engineer to senior engineer to maybe one day principal engineer. The pay bumps are not good however.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Jul 2024
Roles are advertised internally quite often. If you see yourself suitable for the role, you can definitely apply for it. Stantec has made it very clear and flexible for employees that want to progress further in their careers. I really love the way my company approaches this progression in career life.
Graduate, Geelong - 15 Jul 2024
Would suggest asking for the job description of the role you wish to be promoted to and using the different requirements and performed tasks listed as a checklist. Then come time for your performance reviews you can show that you are fulfilling the job description and have the conversation to move up in the ranks.
Graduate, Melbourne - 08 Nov 2023
I think there is a lot of opportunity to advance in my current job. with lots of experienced individuals to help me figure out what pathway i would like to take in my career
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
As a large, global company, Stantec has a large range of opportunities in both ranked promotion and lateral career movement. I think the level of resistance met is based on a manager by manager basis.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Nov 2023
I am currently a grad and while I have a two-year commitment to the program, there is a pathway for me after this tie. I am specifically interested in project management, and I have support from my team lead/mentor and team members to slowly transition into this avenue of work. Stantec also has many opportunities in place for people to grow into these positions and get support along the way. I am confident that my career progression at Stantec will be an enjoyable experience and one that I will feel supported in when the time comes.
Graduate, Perth - 31 Oct 2023
It's pretty clear what you need to do to move up and you have opportunity to create things for yourself. Things aren't given away without effort/hard work which is good to see
Graduate, Melbourne - 23 Oct 2023
I can't say much about the promotion opportunities at this stage. It's been less than a year since I have joined the company. Maybe after 1 year or next year, I'll be in a much better position to talk about promotion opportunities.
Graduate, Brisbane - 19 Oct 2023
Career progression is adequate and is based on experiences/background on the position.
Graduate, Manila - 19 Oct 2023
Stantec has a well structured career level progression pathway. Because Stantec is multi-national engineering firm, it also has excellent opportunities for horizontal career development and moving into new fields, and locations.
