Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will contribute to St Barbara's significant exploration programs across our various exploration targets. 

This role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth, Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie on a 8day on / 6day off roster.

The opportunity 

  • Collecting, collating, interpreting and accurately presenting geological data from the historic Harbour Lights deposit in Leonora.
  • Supervising regional field exploration programs including aircore and RC and diamond drilling;
  • Designing and undertaking field exploration programs and critically evaluating the outcomes from completed exploration activities; 
  • Supporting the timely reporting of exploration results through the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual technical reports; 
  • Contributing to proactive HSE excellence through frequent Visual Leadership Observation and ensuring the health and safety of all personnel associated with the Company's Australian exploration activities.

What we will expect from you 

You should feel a strong alignment with St Barbara’s values as you will be required to live them. You will use our values, along with our five commitments, to guide your decision making as you work for the safety and wellbeing of our people. 

  • You are able to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months) for site access purposes; 
  • You have a current unencumbered West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence; 
  • You are degree qualified with a Bachelor of Science in Geology or equivalent; 
  • You have demonstrated experience logging diamond drill core and RC chips, with sound technical judgement; 
  • You are knowledgeable and experienced across structural controls on gold mineralisation at regional to local scale; 
  • You have a solid understanding of safety requirements relevant to exploration. 
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; 
  • Experience in Micromine and ArcGIS (Desirable) 
  • Exploration experience in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia (Desirable)
