We are currently looking for an experienced Desktop Support person to join the busy Head Office team in Milperra. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this role will be responsible for providing Level 1 and 2 technical support to diagnose and resolve internal users-based problems of equipment and/or systems across the business. 

Working in a fast-paced environment, this person will handle incoming calls and queries from staff and manage escalation to other members of the team, whilst working within strict timeframes. 

Other duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • The creation and deletion of new users across all internal systems;
  • Image desktop PC’s to company requirements and install any additional hardware components as necessary;
  • Setup of all new mobile/tablet devices;
  • Install, configure and maintain network devices including but not restricted to PCs, Laptops Printers, Print Servers, Terminal Servers, Switches and application software;
  • Monitoring and reporting on hardware, software and network resources to ensure a high level of performance, security and integrity;
  • Log, record and manage all requests assigned to you via the IT Helpdesk system, escalate tickets to appropriate parties as required to meet request closure timeframes;
  • Assisting with the administration and support of the local area network, servers and printing facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role; excellent communication skills and well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will be enthusiastic about the ability to work independently but also effectively in a team environment including working within local and remote teams.

Previous experience working with technologies such as Microsoft Active Directory and related services (DHCP, DNS etc.), Microsoft Office, Microsoft servers, Exchange, Wi-Fi, desktop thin clients & laptops, mobile devices, RF barcode scanners, printers, projectors and video conferencing equipment, will be highly regarded.
