As a valued member of this team, you will help support our Lawyers as they advance civil claims on behalf of our clients who have been abused as children in schools, juvenile detention facilities, and in other institutional settings.

What are we looking for?

Our National Abuse team is growing, and we are now seeking experienced legal assistants to join our NSW practice. As a valued member of this team, you will help support our Lawyers as they advance civil claims on behalf of our clients who have been abused as children in schools, juvenile detention facilities, and in other institutional settings.

We are also open to candidates who have limited experience in the legal industry. If you are someone that would like to kickstart their career and have aspirations to become a legal assistant and have a good solid tertiary background in business admin or similar, please also apply. However, strong customer service experience is essential.

This role will offer flexible work arrangements, a 1:1 working partnership supporting a lawyer or law clerk within a very busy practice. You will be integral to supporting and driving the practice from an administration level. Your energy and drive will be integral in achieving successful outcomes along with your positive approach to your work. The location of these roles will be across our NSW offices in Sydney CBD and Ashfield.

A typical day will often look like this:

  • Assist with all administration and management of files
  • Prepare legal correspondence and court documents
  • Extensive diary management
  • Liaise with clients in an empathetic and professional manner
  • All other administrative tasks

What will you bring?

If you are looking for a flexible work environment, a supportive and encouraging team, and an opportunity to grow your legal career, then look no further.

Ideally you will have previous experience as an assistant, personal assistant or legal secretary, particularly in the area of personal injury law, together with the following skills and attributes:

  • Superior customer service skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Organised and proactive approach
  • Ability to confidently multi-task
  • Ability to show initiative
  • A willingness to learn
  • A team player

Why work for us?

As a leading personal injury law firm every member of our Slater + Gordon team shares our passion for our clients, making their tomorrow start today. We work hard to simplify the legal process for our clients and provide support and guidance along the way.

In return, our people enjoy genuine work-life balance, with a hybrid work environment allowing them to split their time between home and the office. We recognise and reward high performance and have outstanding employee benefits including an extra week of annual leave, 18 weeks paid parental leave, extra-long service leave, and various learning and professional development opportunities.

Covered by our Enterprise Agreement, Slater + Gordon Legal Assistants will also enjoy 1 extra day of leave each year, a confirmed 1 July salary increase, and a $100 wellness benefit. Why not make Slater + Gordon your next career opportunity!

What next?
If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly to Slater and Gordon. We prefer to talk with you personally and are not accepting applications from recruitment agencies.
