A unique café venture within a Co-working hub in Alexandria, Sydney is looking for a Café Manager to join our fun and friendly team. If you have a passion for customer service, creating a lively, inclusive environment and have a passion for coffee and food, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager who can work Mon - Fri, 8 hours per day on a permanent contract.

Reporting to the Head of Community in our Co-working Hub, the successful applicant must be able to manage a team, create new menu ideas, handle stock ordering and be reliable, positive and approachable. We also have a growing events business and lots of future potential expansion to become involved within and share your ideas.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Barista, food prep and sandwich making
  • Manage orders - including catering for meetings & events
  • General café duties
  • Café open and close
  • Food & beverage ordering
  • Stock management and space management
  • Manage payment software and equipment - reconcile costs
  • Ongoing recruitment, rostering and managing timesheets for the Café team
  • Monitor and maintain quality control, ensuring our standards and processes are followed
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met and be an active member of the company health and safety committee
  • Proactively propose ideas on how to expand revenue for the business and work with the company founders and community team to implement these
  • Support the marketing and social media team to create content to advertise the Café and proactively build a presence in the local community
  • Gather customer feedback and act upon areas of improvement

What you'll need:

  • Experience as a Café Manager and Barista - understand the requirements for running a café
  • Be passionate about serving great coffee and food! Be creative with new menu ideas 
  • Ability to recruit and lead a team
  • Have a proactive and positive attitude - help us to think of new ways to expand the Café revenue and customer base
  • Be reliable - take ownership for the Café and it's success
  • Food safety supervisor certificate (We can assist in gaining this if required)
  • NSW RSA (We can assist in gaining this if required)
