About the role

SGCH has a great new opportunity for a passionate Landscaper Handyperson to join our Handyperson Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis, 35-hour working week Monday to Friday. This role will be based from the Hurstville office with travel to other SGCH properties as required including Bonnyrigg, Redfern and St Leonards surrounding areas.  

As a Landscaper Handyperson, you are responsible for providing excellent customer service to our tenants by carrying out timely and responsive landscaping maintenance work in residential properties and common areas. Your duties include but are not limited to: 

  • cutting and trimming trees including the removal
  • planting, and building garden beds
  • laying turf
  • paving, fencing and building retaining walls
  • pressure cleaning and other ad hoc maintenance activities

About you

The successful candidate for this role will have: 

  • Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equivalent
  • Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card)
  • Experience in landscaping and garden maintenance
  • Experience on power tools and gardening machinery (e.g. chainsaw and pole saw)
  • Current NSW driving license and experience with driving a trailer
  • Understanding of Australian Standards, BCA and statutory requirements
  • Good understanding of WHS legislation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
