About the role

We are seeking a proactive and autonomous administration assistant/receptionist. Flexible working hours/days are negotiable. Remuneration package plus super will be based on skills and experience.

This role would suit those interested in Accounting wishing to study while working in a practice, Accountants/bookkeepers returning to the work force or semi-retired; or university students wanting part-time work.

Reporting to the Director/Senior Accountant, you will prioritise diverse work tasks and focus on customer service, efficient and friendly communication and willingness to complete a diverse range of responsibilities will set up apart from the competition. You will also work closely with the other part time administrative assistants.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • general administrative duties including client liaison, email, correspondence, filing, invoicing, diary management, etc.
  • processing payments and monitoring the status of accounts receivable and payable
  • general bookkeeping in Xero and MYOB including collaboration with accountants to complete bank reconciliations. BAS and IAS documentation
  • liaising with the ATO, Centrelink, ASIC and financial institutions regarding client financial matters

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will:

  • have a proven background office administration with excellent communication skills
  • be highly computer literate in office products and be able to quickly adapt to a bespoke booking, billing and customer management system
  • have the ability to work independently, multitask and prioritise tasks and be detail orientated
  • ideally have previous experience in the accounting sector and knowledge of practice and bookkeeping software
