Financial Support Coordinator- New England Region. Hybrid role - Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale and Tenterfield regions.

This exciting development enables us to combine our efforts, expand our reach, and further extend our vital services to animals in need throughout the New England region. From desexing and emergency vet assistance programs, advocacy to education, we are committed to improving the lives of all creatures great and small. 

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? Look no further! The RSPCA New England Supporter Group is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Treasurer to join our team and help us make a difference in the lives of animals in Armidale, Tenterfield, Gunnedah, Tamworth, and beyond. 

What does the role look like? 

As Volunteer Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by providing financial oversight and contributing to our organisational success. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • maintain the volunteer supporter group’s financial records and ensure the handling of funds is always conducted in accordance with the legal requirements of RSPCA NSW 
  • oversee and record all financial transactions of the supporter group 
  • accurately and in a timely manner manage the supporter groups' financial affairs and regularly inform the executive committee and all members of the branch’s financial position and alert them of any significant or concerning changes of financial standing. 
  • ensure that all funds received are receipted from the RSPCA NSW official receipt book 
  • deposit all income received within three working days 
  • prepare and provide the volunteer supporter group financial report to the Branch Manager by the 10th of each month using the official template as provided by Branch Manager 
  • ensure all RSPCA NSW guidelines, policies and procedures are followed 

What are the requirements? 

We are seeking a welfare-focused individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for making a difference. While prior experience in a treasurer role is desirable, it is not essential. Key qualifications include: 

  • Must live in the New England area, as you will need to participate in meetings and be actively involved in the group's activities
  • Attention to numerical figures and detail  
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Confident in attending teams/zoom meetings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity and trustworthiness
  • Positive attitude 
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Eagerness to understand and support the mission of RSPCA NSW  

Time Commitment  

We’re looking for people who can volunteer up to 15 hours per month, however this role is estimated to be much less.
