This is a fantastic opportunity to build upon your TAFE studies and develop practical civil drafting skills and experience working on a range of interesting structural and civil engineering projects.
Working with our professional and experienced teams, the successful candidate will be provided with extensive on-the-job training and mentoring, development opportunities and visit construction sites to gain first-hand experience in the field.
Successful candidates will be currently studying or have recently completed engineering studies at TAFE.
Duties include:
- Assist in the preparation of drawings and sketches in conjunction with engineers and draftspersons.
- Undertake drafting design alterations in line with design changes where appropriate.
- Develop competency in the Company’s computer software design programs.
- Visits to sites for inspections to assist the engineering team with concrete and steel condition audits.
- Liaise with staff members in other offices.
- Other tasks as allocated by senior staff.
Selection Criteria
Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, the successful applicant will ideally:
- Have completed or be nearing completion in Certificate IV (or higher) in Engineering Drafting, Civil Construction Design or similar.
- A strong interest in technology and engineering.
- Be computer literate with a keen interest in technical drawing.
- Exposure to drafting packages such as AutoCAD and Microstation.
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in their work.
- Possess strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Be currently residing in Australia with Australian working rights.
- Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Be fluent in written and spoken English.
