Coach/Vehicle Builder (Brisbane City Council)

Are you a qualified tradesperson with vehicle building experience? Brisbane City Council is growing one of their teams at their Toowong depot and is looking for an experienced coach builder to join the team. 

About the role

The successful candidate will be tasked with working on the repair, manufacture and maintenance of a fleet of Brisbane City Council coaches/buses. The successful candidate will be tasked with: 

• Structural/Body Maintenance
• Painting and general refurbishment
• Working closely with trade assistants and apprentices
• Modifying of Heavy Vehicles and Buses
• Fabrication and welding tasks
• Assembly according to technical specifications
• Maintaining a safe working area at all times

Key Requirements

A strong sense of teamwork with an interest in ensuring projects are completed to a high standard. A commitment to safety and ensuring all machinery and operations are conducted according to guidelines.

• Bus or Coach bodybuilding experience (essential)
• Relevant Cert III Trade Certificate (essential) 
• Ability to apply initiative when working unsupervised
