Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
As a grad on the wards, I felt like I was just another worker. Not a lot of additional training was provided. PACU is a very supported environment, training is more one on one and specific. Every staff member in this environment is helpful with educating you.
Graduate, Melbourne - 13 Nov 2023
I only received about 2 hours of training on the technical aspects with my second rotation however, there was always help available when needed.
Graduate, Sydney - 31 Oct 2023
A 15 min in service every few months pretty poor
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
Induction was way too short - 3 days! All the competencies and no paid time to get them done - grossly unfair In service during start of shift setting you back before you've even started.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
Training has been ok Would love more time to do certain skills or tasks as its patients lives And sometimes you don't get alot of time on the ward to do things
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
I have taken part in a range of training in my first rotation (Ramsay UK) - for example 'becoming a trusted advisor', finance training, communications training... In my second rotation (Ramsay Australia) I have access to linkedin learning. I have also taken part in a range of training for responsible sourcing, e.g. how to use the CSR platforms.
Graduate, Sydney - 31 Oct 2023
The majority of my training was on the job training. I liked this style of learning but do think that outside help would also be beneficial in terms of staying within best practice.
Graduate, Melbourne - 31 Oct 2023
Online mandatory training completed yearly. site specific training and mental health related education
Graduate, Warners Bay - 31 Oct 2023
No professional development in physio The compulsory training is fine
Graduate, Sydney - 31 Oct 2023
I wish there was more training for emergencies and sometimes more staff support
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
Fusion learning sessions every few months to learn a workplace skill such as resilience or how to deal with changes in the workplace (moving country, dealing with different managers etc)
Graduate, Sydney - 31 Oct 2023
Very little formal training. Have learnt everything from other staff
Graduate, Melbourne - 31 Oct 2023
Not much formal training, mostly informal training on the job. Self directed learning/discussion with senior staff members as new experiences or situations arise.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
My trainer has been amazing with my development. Guiding me, asking me how best to support me and taking 'easier' jobs on shift to enable me to focus on specific jobs to further my learning has been great. The New Grad Study Days are close to pointless. Unengaging and sometimes not relevant.
Graduate, Wollongong - 31 Oct 2023
I believe new grads should be giving more training of codes and what to do
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
Started off with 2 weeks orientation in theatre. Proceeded to 4 weeks of super numeracy time. Struggled to learn skill in orthopaedics as short staffed constantly and no opportunity to back scrub with joints and more complex cases.
Graduate, Perth - 31 Oct 2023
Informal training is mostly offered during lunch breaks or handover time when you can't leave the ward. Formally I have been able to advance my knowledge by completing postgraduate education. I have become a really good critical thinker, developed confidence in my clinical decisions and developed autonomy where I complete Incharge shifts overseeing the care of 24 patients.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
Pretty consistent training across a wide range of topics, mainly focused on leadership.
Graduate, Brisbane - 31 Oct 2023
SDLP, inservices etc all great
Graduate, Gold Coast - 31 Oct 2023
It would have been great to have a tutorial on how to use the learning program. That said once I figured it out it is very user friendly
