Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
The Queensland Government have recently rolled out a new legislation to support woman who face fertility/menstrual issues. In my organisation, we also have a mentorship for woman. So our leaders recognise that woman need additional support in this space and are taking steps to improve outcomes for woman in leadership, and to help woman land leadership roles.

There is mandatory training on workplace diversity and discussion groups open to everyone to join.

I have seen all types of people working equally in the workplace. I haven't seen any discrimination as such. Promotion is strictly based on the skillset. Queensland Government has pretty good retention rate because of their policies and respect for each employee.

It is a great place with various ethnicities and religions and everyone seems to be getting along very well. Everyone shows respect to peers and it just makes you feel welcome and happy to work in the environment I am currently working in.

Generally committed, but the actual diversity of the talent pool in information/IT is skewed towards men so the office is primarily men, particularly outside of the data and information space.

Of the 4 grads, one was LGBT, I was a woman. Very good with diversity in terms of that. I also got opportunities over males based on work performance. It was merit based.

Government is an equal opportunity employer. People are comfortable to be who they are, and I have noticed everyone being very inclusive with one another.

DAF is heavily involved with diversity seminars and workshops, and provides benefits such as maternity leave. The recruitment process is mostly merit based, and it should be 100% merit based.

Unfortunately, I think we could be doing more to target marginalised backgrounds.
