Accounting Tutor - TAFE Students Preferred null

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated tutor to provide comprehensive support to a student pursuing a Certificate IV and Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping. The ideal candidate should possess excellent teaching skills, particularly in simplifying complex concepts through visual and verbal explanations to assist the student in successfully completing assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Mathematics: Provide guidance on various mathematical aspects related to accounting, including formulas in Excel and other accounting math requirements as needed.

2. Accounting Computing and Digital Skills: Assist the student in mastering a range of digital skills relevant to the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, including but not limited to:

   • Administering subsidiary accounts and ledgers
   • Completing business activity and instalment activity statements
   • Designing and producing spreadsheets
   • Establishing and maintaining payroll systems
   • Preparing financial reports and statements
   • Creating operational budgets
   • Processing financial transactions and generating interim reports
   • Setting up and operating computerized accounting systems
   • Fostering effective work practices in the accounting and bookkeeping industry
   • Designing and creating business documents
   • Developing complex spreadsheets
   • Performing financial calculations
   • Managing business tax requirements
   • Producing job costing information

3. Written Reports and Essays: Offer guidance in report and essay writing, helping the student understand the fundamental concepts, formulate ideas, and provide editing assistance to ensure the final reports meet academic standards.

Requirements:

• A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping qualification.
• Willingness to commence tutoring at the beginning of the academic year.
• Preference for candidates with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (not essential).
• Knowledge of the course curriculum and content.
• Ideal candidates may include individuals graduating from Certificate IV or Diploma programs this year.
• Students pursuing higher education, especially those interested in studying at a university, are encouraged to apply as continuity with the same tutor is preferred.
