Position Description

This is a great opportunity to work in a friendly family business that has been operating successfully for over 20 years in the Sydney engineering services market in the area of automated car-parking systems- also known as Car Stackers. 

Your role

  • Gain valuable work experience working alongside a Chartered Professional Electrical Engineer and a ticketed Electrical Supervisor.

Due to exciting business growth, we are seeking a pro-active and eager-to-learn budding  Electrical Engineer or Technician to work with our business on a regular casual basis every month. 

This work is entirely Sydney-based. 

Duties under supervision will Include:

  • Assisting in scheduled preventative maintenance work and breakdown work each week
  • Assisting in fault finding/programming on PLCs and mechatronic systems
  • Providing training to operators for basic troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with sub-contractors on small projects and upgrades
  • Taking PLC, VSD drives and HMIs software backups periodically
  • Writing reports after breakdown work and maintenance work is completed

Qualifications (preferred but not essential):

  • Completed or completing a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering 
  • Completed or completing a TAFE diploma of electrical, instrument or mechatronic engineering

Prior Experience (preferred but not essential):

  • Experience in Automation, Control Systems, and Electrical projects.
  • Competent ability in troubleshooting and fault-finding control system hardware (PLC, SCADA HMI, and VSDs)
  • Understanding of electrical standards and codes of practice, safety and electronic components.
  • Reading and understanding electrical schematics.

Hourly pay for this position is negotiable but will be broadly in-line with the relevant Award.
