Your role

What you will be doing:

  • Developing your leadership and problem-solving skills through projects that drive change and innovation
  • Working with senior executives on complex strategic or operational issues within the public health system
  • Learning about the strategic, operational, and financial management of a large health organisation 

About you

What they're looking for:

  • Passionate individuals wanting a rewarding career in senior health finance leadership
  • A recent graduate who has completed any undergraduate or postgraduate degree in accounting, finance, or commerce within the past five years
  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

Requirements:

  • Hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in accounting, finance or commerce from a recognised University within the past five years. (This degree must allow direct entry into the CPA Program which can be assessed through CPA Australia)
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation for a career in public health finance management.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with others and build positive relationships with individuals and teams
  • Demonstrate an ability to show initiative and to gather and critically analyse complex information to identify solutions to problems.
  • People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & benefits

The salary for this role is AUD 1,563.50 - AUD 2,080.01 per week. As an employee, they offer various benefits including:

Training & development

The program:

  • A two-year program designed to develop future finance leaders in NSLHD and across NSW Health
  • Combines practical work experience with a fully funded Certified Practicing Accounting (CPA) study
  • Graduates work with and learn from senior NSLHD executives, including the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Finance throughout the program
