Title: Cook, Permanent - Part-time Role, 27.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $58496.52 to $67982.47 pro rata per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Working within a team environment and reporting to the Children’s Service Director, the role of the cook is to prepare well balanced culturally appropriate and nutritious meals in accordance with relevant legislation, and Council, Service and Centre Philosophy, Policies and Procedures, including Centre’s Nutrition Policy and Food Safety Regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan a weekly menu in consultation with the Director or other staff as required
  • Actively seek the involvement of families and staff in menu planning
  • Prepare meals including lunch, morning and afternoon tea
  • Maintain stock levels 
  • Adapt menu and ingredients, considering nutritional requirements, cultural and religious differences, special needs, and allergies
  • In consultation with the Director ensure the cost of provisions stays within budget while maintaining a high standard of quality food preparation.
