Your role

The key objective of this newly created Graduate role here at Nissan is to support the procurement team by working within the business on cost-reduction initiatives. This will include going to market (tender), commercial negotiations, delivering best-value solutions, assisting with contract finalisation, conducting contract reviews as well as supplier relationship management just to name a few.

You will maintain a varied client group across the business and will be a key contributor in working with multiple stakeholders leading procurement sourcing activities.

Key responsibilities in supporting the Nissan procurement team, include (but are not limited to the following functions):

  • Cost Optimisation - working with business requirements and specifications to align with cost reduction strategies
  • Vendors - Consolidation and rationalisation of vendors to enable economies of scale/synergy and leverage of Group Spend in each category.
  • Stakeholder Management - Partnering with internal stakeholders by adding a value proposition to Procurement's involvement in their team and associated processes.
  • Compliance - Practice, promote, monitor, report, and lead on all Policies, Procedures, Ethics, and Governance issues in pursuit of adherence to Compliant practices
  • Support Business administrative tasks as required.

About you

Here's what Nissan is looking for in this role:

Experience

  • Essential: Tertiary qualification in either Procurement, Engineering, Commerce, and/or a related category (Logistics & Supply Chain)
  • Exposure to basic Logistics, Transport, and Warehousing sourcing concepts would be an added advantage
  • Do you love Excel? Proficiency in Spreadsheets, Database, Business Systems, and Communication Software
  • (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, SAP, Mainframe, etc.)
  • Some working knowledge/understanding of Systems -Database, Inventory, Warehousing, Materials Management, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships internally and externally across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and lateral thinking skills
  • High level of business acumen and commercially focused
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Committed to developing and investing time in the growth of the consolidated Procurement principle.
