Reception/Administration Assistant 

We have an exciting new part-time (initially 2 days per week) position available for a junior to intermediate receptionist and administration assistant based in our Sydney office.

The firm is a boutique practice specialising in employment and industrial relations, and migration law.  The firm has offices in Sydney and Darwin with clients spread throughout Australia. We provide high quality legal services and work closely with our clients. 

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate who will work with a motivated small team.  This role is a busy hands-on position, and the successful candidate will become a vital part of the team.

The position is part-time initially 2 days per week.  It is anticipated the hours will increase over time and the role will become a full-time role.  The duties include: 

  • Opening and closing files and general matter management;
  • Filing;
  • Diary and email management;
  • Accounts work, including client billing;
  • Making travel arrangements;
  • Dictaphone typing;
  • Printing, photocopying, filing, scanning;
  • Occasional deliveries;
  • First point of contact with IT and other computer related issues;
  • First point of contact for service providers of the practice;
  • Reception and first point of contact for client interactions;
  • Assisting with client and other events; 
  • Washing the dishes, removing the rubbish, and recycling; and
  • General administration tasks as directed.

About You

You will have a sound understanding of the importance of prioritising work and will have exceptional organisational skills, initiative, confidence and drive. You will also have a professional presentation, good typing skills and an eye for detail.  Legal industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
