What is your current role, and how long have you held this role?

My Current role is Modern Workplace Junior Consultant, and it’s been a beautiful seven months.

How did you choose your specialisation and why?

The world is changing with technology daily, making me think about choosing my field. It can keep me up to date with the changing environment.  That’s why I choose to study IT, where I can help others in a fast-changing world. As an Information Technology graduate specialising in Network Security and System Analyst and employment experience in the IT and Market Research industry, I always seek an environment where I can face daily challenges and solve issues. I have practised my leadership and project management skills by doing multiple group assignments during my university life; This gave me confidence in managing the team and achieving the goal with a whole team.  

What does a typical day look like for you?

I start each day by reviewing my meeting schedule and answering my emails. I ensure that I am prepared for all the client meetings and up to date with all my projects. I always plan and try to finish all my assignments within the scheduled deadline. One of my favourite parts of Nexon is that there is no “typical day”; every day in Nexon is challenging, exciting and creative. Every project comes with an enormous challenge, new ideas and excitement to deliver a nice piece of work that can help our clients with future prosperity. I usually answer my emails very quickly and try to keep my clients up to date with continuous communication. Which makes them feel they are part of the project, and it becomes an excellent partnership. As a team in Nexon, we aim to make our clients happy and feel good about the result.

What is your favourite part of your role and why?

I joined my current position seven months prior, and my whole team was very supportive and helped me through my initial few weeks. My lead consultant and manager ensured that I understood the business process and how to manage the projects. My entire team allows me to grow in my professional career; they are always supportive and work collaboratively on projects. My manager is my inspiring leader. She listens to my ideas and makes me feel valued enough to openly state my opinion about our daily procedures. This transparency and supportive work culture help us stay productive and innovative in the office.

Where could you or others in your position go from here?

I work best in a collaborative environment, so I look forward to working with a different team to align and achieve our goals.

Could someone with a different professional background transition into your role?

Nexon encourages everyone with the progression of their career. If anyone has an interest and wants to grow their future career different their background, Nexon always supports them with programs and training.

What was the most exciting task/project that you have worked on?

The most exciting project I am working on is SharePoint migration. I found this exciting because it is an essential part of any project which carries more value to the company. It is a very organising project which requires a checklist. As I always like being organised for everything in my all project, that’s why migration project makes me happy to finish with a deadline and make the client happy.       

What are some challenges that you face?

Starting to work with new clients and other team is always challenging. But at Nexon, we help each other when any challenges arise, making my daily work more accessible and better. 

What advice would you give to graduates that are looking to get a career within the IT industry?

Stay hungry and foolish to learn new things. Keep improving yourself with new skills because IT is a vast area where you can learn and apply multiple skills in your workplace and become a super start. This is our chance to learn and push ourselves into challenges as a graduate.

What was your interview process like? What kind of questions were you asked?

My interview process was perfect; I enjoyed the entire interview to join the journey with Nexon.

The question was related to my background, like my university experience, how I manage my assignment in a team project, time management etc. It was a very welcoming and cooperative interview. Finally, the recruitment team was fantastic and very supportive, reducing my stress in a new workplace.
