Learn something new every day! The IT industry is changing and so should we, be open to new experiences and knowledge.

What is your current role and how long have you held this role?

My current role is Service Delivery and Provisioning Officer and I’ve been working in this role since September 2019.

How did you choose your specialisation and why?

I learned about this specialisation through my partner as he was working in the same role some time ago – in a world where technology is part of everyday life it was an easy decision for me.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is different when you work in this role, but we maintain day-to-day activities as a team.

We start the day by assigning new work, go over our Carrier updates and attend any Customer related queries. Then we usually follow the process of updates by follow-up date, cover billing and any outstanding Support, Sales and Accounts enquiries. We regularly attend Customer and Carrier meetings, align purchasing with our ordering group and raise all Carrier-related orders.

What is your favourite part of your role and why?

My favourite part is Service Delivery as it provides me with the opportunity to get in touch with our customers. In a world of technology, human interaction is my favourite part.

Where could you or others in your position go from here?

This role is often considered the opening door for many paths because of its diversity.

You may choose to specialise in more technical roles and learn about products and solutions, or you can choose a Project Management path.

Could someone with a different professional background transition into your role?

People with all different professional backgrounds come to work in Service Delivery and Provisioning role – I came from an HR background.

I often say you all need good intuition, organisational skills, and a desire to learn.

What was the most exciting task/project that you have worked on?

As a Team Leader, I strive to make my team’s work day as easy and flexible as possible.

The most recent system development that I participated in must be the most exciting one as it gave me the opportunity to set the workflow and process that would make a difference in day-to-day work in Provisioning.

What are some challenges that you face?

I consider the greatest challenge for us as a team to be miscommunication.

What advice would you give to graduates that are looking to get a career within the IT industry?

People, their commitment to work and sense of responsibility to our customers.

In your opinion what is the culture like at Nexon?
