What is your current role and how long have you held this role?
Currently, I am an Account Manager for Enterprise Customers. I’ve held this role for the last 5 months.
How did you choose your specialisation and why?
After working with my mentor for a year she recommended this role to me as it involves engaging with customers regularly, meeting end-user expectations and improving the customer experience.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day starts by reviewing any outstanding items, once complete my main focus is to prioritise customer requirements. To achieve this, I organise several customer meetings to make sure there is alignment.
What is your favourite part of your role and why?
Achieving a hurdle for a customer as it is rewarding to see the process and also working with my amazing team as they are so supportive and I’m not afraid to raise any questions to them.
Where could you or others in your position go from here?
I started my role as a Sales Support Officer at Nexon and then moved into Account Management through advice from my mentor. The next position could be anything you want such as a Business Development Manager or even specialising in a field for example Dynamics.
Could someone with a different professional background transition into your role?
Yes! If you are someone that loves to take care of customer needs and can build good relationships this is the role for you!
What was the most exciting task/project that you have worked on?
Working on RFPs with my mentor has been great as I’ve been able to see how the Nexon team comes together from start to end to understand the requirements and create a solution.
What are some challenges that you face?
Understanding the various techniques can be challenging as this industry is continually changing, though with the right support and training this does get better.
What advice would you give to graduates that are looking to get a career within the IT industry?
If you have an interest in a particular sector of the industry, apply! If you are passionate about something it will take you a long way. Things are not as hard as they seem and a lot of people learn on the job so don’t be scared. There is an abundance of support at Nexon which will help you get to where you want to be.

The culture is very positive and welcoming. If there is somewhere you want to be in your career, Nexon can help you get the skills you need to get there. People are also very easy to approach and for me, I love working with my team as everyone works together very well.
What was your interview process like? What kind of questions were you asked?
My interview process was great, I had two face-to-face interviews and automatically could feel the culture come through. Questions I got asked were what my previous skills were, where I worked before, what I was interested in and also what activities I do after work. The team here gets to know you personally which brings a sense of comfort.
