We are seeking Electrical and Mechanical apprentices / graduates to join our Service and Maintenance team which is responsible for carrying out service and maintenance, repairs, and installations on diesel generators, UPS systems, automatic transfer switches and related equipment to well over 200 customers across NSW.

Reporting to the Service Manager, this is a fast-paced technical and customer-facing role for a highly organised individual. MPower’s customers include major hospitals, banks, data centres, high profile corporate buildings and small businesses across NSW.

Ideally, this person has exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills, being able to work independently as well as part of a team. It is a hands-on role and a great opportunity for the right person, with lots of potential for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on emergency generators and related equipment, including diesel and gas engines, alternators, local and remote cooling systems, fuel transfer systems, generator control systems and UPS systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate solutions
  • Install and commission new equipment as needed
  • Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and support
  • Always represent MPower in a professional manner
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
  • Demonstrate a strong focus on health, safety and the environment
  • Comply with all safety regulations and industry standards

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Technician – Qualified Supervisor Certificate (electrical trade licence) or near qualified
  • Mechanical Technician – Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent or near qualified
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to job sites
