The Opportunity

To ensure a consistently high-quality of product, there is a strong focus on practical quality steps at all stages of the manufacturing process. The QA Officer will work in the plant to sample and test raw materials, in-process and finished products, and packaging materials. In addition, they will be involved in environmental monitoring, water sampling and in factory hygiene checks.

Key accountabilities include:

• Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis to in-house and 3rd party laboratories for microbiological, chemical, and nutritional analysis.
• Conduct pre-op inspection, and environmental swab to ensure the cleanliness of the processing area.
• Accurately document QA processes and test/sample results and maintain recordkeeping by established laboratory requirements.
• Hygiene monitoring
• Develop awareness and understanding of corporate policies, practices, and procedures related to Food Safety and HACCP.
• Collect, monitor and report on customer complaints and corrective action progress.

Above all else, you will be reliable, self-motivated and a great team member. Whilst a laboratory or technical qualification would be highly regarded, it is not essential. To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate in Food Technology, Food Processing Laboratory Techniques or similar
• A high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Sound computer literacy
• Ability to follow written procedures
• Excellent communication skills.

Once fully operational, you will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern of the day, afternoon and evening shifts.
