Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership
  • Take responsibility for the care and wellbeing of residents and assist in the provision of resident care i.e. feeding, toileting, personal hygiene dressing, grooming, safe mobility etc.
  • Continually monitor residents and report changes in health and condition to Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in the implementation of planned individual resident programs i.e. preventative pressure area care, continence management, behaviour management, manual handling, nutrition/hydration management, leisure, lifestyle and wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation and prevention programmes etc.
  • Ensure the comfort, privacy, dignity, and preferences of each resident are respected and maintained. Encourage and support residents to make their own decisions.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the resident's environment and ensure housekeeping and laundry schedules are maintained.
  • Respond to call bells and requests for assistance in a timely manner.

About you

Previous experience in personal care or aged care role is desirable
Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or a related discipline.
Intermediate computer literacy.
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards

Key to success in the position of Personal Care Worker is the ability to be proactive, self-driven and competent in managing their time effectively coupled with the ability to be adaptive and flexible to the changing needs of residents.
